Using Product Cost and Labor Cost to Calculate Selling Price

One Click Contractor can support pricing workflows that use Product Cost and Labor Cost to calculate a selling price, depending on how your price list is configured.

Article Introduction

In the Estimator, product pricing may be configured to use fields such as Product Cost and Labor Cost when calculating the final selling price. The exact pricing behavior depends on your organization’s price list setup and configuration.

What It Does

Some products can be configured so their selling price is calculated using both:

  • Product Cost
  • Labor Cost

Depending on your setup, these values may be combined and used as part of a pricing calculation.

For example, your organization may want a selling price based on product cost, labor cost, and an additional pricing adjustment.

What to Expect

Pricing behavior depends on how your organization’s price list has been configured.

In some cases, products may already have the necessary pricing fields available. In other cases, Support or your onboarding team may need to review your product setup before pricing calculations can be applied correctly.

Bulk Pricing Updates

If many products need pricing changes, updates are often best handled in bulk instead of one product at a time.

When contacting Support, it helps to provide:

  • The product category or section that needs to be updated
  • Which products should use the calculation
  • The Product Cost values
  • The Labor Cost values
  • The pricing result you are expecting

When to Contact Support

Contact chat support or your Account Manager if you need help reviewing whether your products can support this type of pricing setup.

Support can help confirm what information is needed and whether the update should be handled product-by-product or through a bulk update.

Important Notes

  • Pricing calculations depend on your organization’s configuration.
  • Products need both Product Cost and Labor Cost filled in before calculations can work as expected.
  • Some pricing changes may require Support assistance.
  • Bulk updates may be recommended when many products or categories need the same pricing logic.
