My preferences are set to show all of the detailed pricing but for some reason my estimates and contractors have the detail hidden?
Most often, this is a case of having a product in your Price List that is marked with a Visibility of "Edit Mode Only". When you have a product that is marked this way, the system will automatically disable the display of detailed pricing and hide it the details.
If detailed pricing was shown and one of your line items on the estimate was hidden, the resulting estimate wouldn't make sense.
- Visible Item 1 - $1,000
- Visible Item 2 - $500
- Total = $1,750
This would be confusing to the customer when reviewing your proposal/agreement and you'd have to answer to them that you have another line item(s) that total the $250 that is hidden that comes up to the total.
So, how do you resolve it?
The fix is pretty simple, find the products you've marked as Edit Mode Only in the Price List Editor and change it back to Always. After the changes are made, re-activate the price list, and voila your detailed pricing will be visible again!
